ADVANCED FIRE FIGHTING

USCG approved Advanced Fire Fighting course meets the current STCW standards and examines Fire Fighting techniques and control of Fire Fighting operations with emphasis on organization, tactics, and command functions including onboard crew training and drills.

Mariners successfully completing Maritime Institute’s Advanced Fire Fighting course will satisfy the Advanced Fire Fighting training requirements of Section A-VI/3 and Table A-VI/3 of the STCW Code, as amended 2010, 46 CFR 11.201(h), and 11.303(a), and the equivalent of all Tasks from the Advanced Fire Fighting NVIC 09-14; PROVIDED the applicant has previously held a STCW Basic Fire Fighting.

Training Certificate of Completion

Any applicant who has successfully completed your Advanced Fire Fighting (MARINS-15) course will satisfy: The Advanced Fire Fighting standards of competence required by 46 CFR 11.201(h)(2) [Advanced only]; AND The standards of competence required by 46 CFR 11.303(a); STCW Code Section A- VI/3 and Table A-VI/3, as amended 2010, meeting the National Assessment Guidelines from NVIC 09-14(Ch-1), all Tasks; AND The standards of competence required by 46 CFR 11.305(a)(2), 11.307(a)(2), 11.311(a)(2), 11.313(a)(2), and 11.315(a)(2); STCW Code Section A-II/2 and Tables A-II/2, as amended 2010, meeting the National Assessment Guidelines from NVICs 10-14(Ch-4), 11-14(Ch-4), and 03-18(Ch-2) Tasks 16.1.A, 16.2.A, and 16.3.A. Applicants who have successfully completed your course need not present completed “Task Control Sheets” for these assessments in application for STCW certification.
